It looks like Blizzard listened! Starcraft: Remastered has been announced officially with a release date some time this August.
What’s even better about this news is that the game actually appears to be “free” for past owners of the Starcraft Anthology. While Blizzard seems a little unclear on what will be actually free, it looks like past owners will at least have access to the updated online services. For those willing to pay an extra 14.99, Blizzard offers a total reskin of the game going up to 4k.
Because hey… we couldn’t already do that with mods could we…
From Blizzards end, they state that “the PC gaming classic that took the world by storm is back and better than ever. Hear the iconic dialogue and music, now in glorious HD. Relive the legendary story through brand-new comic book-style interludes that provide additional perspective from the three warring races. Command your army with renewed zeal as you zoom out for a Battlecruiser’s bird’s eye view or zoom back in to see the bloody aftermath of each battle in incredible detail.”
